Excellent.
Date:October 16, 2010
Pros: price, design & style, functionality, long battery life, radio included, good sound quality for its size, one of the best mp3 players out there
Cons: not any really!, when will sandisk release a waterproof mp3?
I have to give my review a title. The Sansa clip Mp3 player doesn't need any other title to describe it. <<Excellent>> Because it is just simply excellent. It doesn't need another daft accessory so you can attach it to your top as it has a clip on the back of the player hence the name Sansa clip!. Its easy to use, very competitively priced and is very stylish and makes you stand out from the crowd. One thing I especially love about the Sansa clip is its ability to speed through a long track....for example a dj set which can be several hours long you can speed through to the bits of the track you like in seconds. Long battery life, great design and build and perfect for running to, Brilliant, sorry I meant excellent!

Horrible product

Mine broke after one hour of exercise! You cannot use the clip on your shirt or shorts while exercising or sweat enters the product and it breaks. Worthless!

I'm very unhappy
Date:September 29, 2010
I had Sansa MP3 player before, the kind that plugged directly into the computer and I LOVED it, but I dropped it way too many times and it stopped working, just a few months after the warranty expired. So I thought the Clip would be a good transition since its Sansa, small, and cheap (well the cheapest MP3 player Best Buy had anyways). Ever since I've purchased this player, it's given me nothing but problems. If I charge for an hour it only charges about 50% but if you charge all night, it will charge, then it will uncharge and be completely uncharged when you go to use it... I've experienced this on multiple computers so I know its not just my home computer. As soon as I plug it into any computer, it wants to sync any files on that computer to the player so I've had to result in only using an external memory card to upload the music to and listen to in it. If is shows its fully charged, it will only stay charged, what, a couple of hours if that! I can't rely on this MP3 player when I'm working out, driving, at work, nothing. Don't waste your money on it because you'll just end up spending more money on another player, unless I just have a faulty one or something but my mom has one too and she's beginning to experience the same problems.

Love my little Clip.
Date:September 27, 2010
Pros: size, plays just about every type of audio file.
Cons: small hickup connecting when first using., just had to update my wmp.
Picked up a 2GB clip a few years back just for snowboarding and other athletic activities. Used it daily, always worked great. Sounded great as well, especially with my Grado SR80s.
When they came out with the Clip+ I picked up an eight gig with an eight gig Micro SD and it has since replaced my Cowon d2 as my main player. This is one of the best players on the market.

Small, easy but not truly portable
Date:August 22, 2010
Pros: simple and small
Cons: earbud jack won't stay seated in port
I've had my Clip for at least a year now. I got it mostly for listening to books. It is the 1st and only MP3 player I've used. Tiny size is wonderful and it is very easy to load books by dragging and dropping. Took me a bit, but I figured out how to find and start and return to where I was ... even weeks later.
One big complaint though -- and I read abt this on the web before getting my Clip: The jack does not sit firmly in the jack port. It can easily change positions, that is, slip out of contact, and then all sound stops. I've tried other ear piece sets, but it seems the jack port is just not snug enough. This means that I can only use it when sitting still or if I can hold the Clip carefully in my hand. So it doesn't get as much use as I would like.
I have warned friends off getting one for just this reason.

Great Player, Don't lose the Clip!
Date:July 16, 2010
I am not nice to electronics. I consider them disposable. I average a cell phone a year and watch about as often. My Sansa Clip I've had for 3 years now and it's great. I always laugh to myself when I see some behemoth music player on someones arm at the gym.
My ONLY complaint, and its serious, is the clip which holds the clip to your body can easily be lost. If that happens, your enjoyment level of this product decreases a lot. I work offshore where everything is metal grating. One day I dropped the Clip clip popped off the back... down into the west african atlantic. Now I use the clip with a little 'paper pinching clip' from the office. This setup stinks but I have never seen a new clip to purchase offered anywhere!
It's great product. Small, loud, durable, but be careful not to lose the clip!

Nice Player
Date:July 14, 2010
Have only had it for a week now and I'm comparing it to my old Muvo T100
which I always liked. I mostly listen thru a cassette adapter in my car,
but I gave a brief listen thru the ear buds too.
The packaging was a pain to open. I plugged it into my Linux pc and
mounted the player without issue. I let it charge for about 20 minutes
and then started to copy about 400 songs over. Pretty easy to use. There
are more features than explained in the provided documentation.
So far I like the sound, it's at least equal to my old player, volume is
not as strong which makes it difficult to balance the volume on my car
stereo with the CD and radio. It's easy to use, and the screen is bright.
I wish the USB plug was built into the device (even if the form factor
has to grow) the extra cable makes it less usable as a flash drive when
the cable isn't handy. I used it for about 10 hours and when I plugged it
back into the PC it didn't take long to fully charge, so I think the
battery life should be okay, but that's just a guess for now.
It's a very nice player considering it's the cheapest 8gig player I could
find.

Awesome MP3 player
Date:July 12, 2010
This is my second SANSA Clip. My first was a 2G that is still going perfectly. I bought the 8GB for the added space and it works perfectly. Very tiny, light and user friendly. I reallly mean USER friendly.
I will add that I have had a couple of problems with it that might tie in with a couple of posts on this forum.
On two occasions, this player did go silent and refused to play even though it indicated it was.
Simple solution: Reformat and relaod music. I believe this happened when the unit was plugged into a car adaptor and was playing the entire collection.
Other than that, the Equalizer is fantastic and something my 80G Zune does not have.
As far as I am concerned it is a perfect little MP3 player.

I got the clip for christmas 2 years ago (after my 4gb Sansa video player died) - I've had no trouble with this one yet, works great; not to mention FM comes in better on this than it does on my portable cd player. if you just want music and radio go for this one - if you want video i'd suggest going with a sony walkman mp3video player

Disappointed
Date:June 24, 2010
I bought this player about a year ago, when I finally start using it this afternoon it quit working. The battery was not dead, but I tried to plug it into the computer to charge just in case and NOTHING! I would not waste my money another one!

Cheap, solid, and Linux compatible

Works and advertised and works well. USBMS mode allows for simply dragging and dropping music on any operating system. Compatible with many formats non-standard in the pmp world, such as FLAC and OGG.

Suprised
Date:May 19, 2010
I am 67 years old. I bought the Sansa Clip to listen to music while cutting grass with my Kubota tractor and finish mower. I am absolutely amazed at the features on this little device. It was a snap to load my Windows music files and the FM radio works great. It makes grass cutting a joy. I can't believe all that music comes out of this tiny device.I guess this proves that you can teach an"old dog new tricks".
Thanks for an amazing product at an unbelievable price.

NO GOOD!
Date:April 16, 2010
My wife and I each bought one at the same time, and we have both had problems with both of ours! When they play they are good, but we have each had they same issue with our players going silent on us and not playing any music, all the while the player indicates that it is playing music/radio?! The player will go for hours or days without playing, and just as mysteriously as it quit, it will all of a sudden start playing music/radio again?! Very confusing and VERY frustrating! Don't buy one! Save your money up and buy a REAL MP3 player!

Generally a very good product for what I need
Date:April 11, 2010
I use an mp3 player to listen to playlists, and for this purpose it stores an adequate amount of music, has a playlist feature and syncs well with winamp, the product I use on Windows. The battery life is long enough for a day's listening. The sound quality is good although I do not use the provided earphones but use my own.
One other thing I like that didn't apply to the "stick" players I had previously, is that it is easy to see quickly that artist and title of the song I am listening to, without having to wait hours for scrolling text (that then disappears off screen the moment the info you are looking for comes up).
The only downsides are that
1. No user control over the ways it stores your files and because I listen to playlists with lots of various artists, it ends up creating loads of unwanted subdirectories that subsequently have to be removed manually. There is no option for me to use one directory per playlist which is my preferred choice.
2. When re-charging it often loses the position in the current playlist as it does not know you are plugging it into your computer simply to charge.
In addition the playlists are not stored in easy-to-edit text files which would make it easier to modify them if you want.

Best there is!!!
Date:March 27, 2010
I suffered for years waiting for a nice player that supported all the open source codecs such as OGG and FLAC as well as the others. Not only does that but plays very nice with Linux and the music apps on it. The sound is great! Get one when you can find one, they are a bit hard to locate but well worth finding. And the price is a steal.
Best part? No apple or microsoft OS lock-in from the vendor and no itunes!!!
THANKS SANSA!!!

Excellent Player
Date:March 19, 2010
I bought this player after having an ipod shuffle. I got tired of not having a screen to scroll down to the music I wanted. I was also frustrated with having to use itunes. Now, with the Sansa Clip, I just drag and drop my music/audiobooks straight over using Windows Explorer. Very easy to switch music. I ended up buying one for everyone in my family.

Big Bang
Date:March 9, 2010
Pros: convenient, long lived, tons of space
Cons: not all "super-smooth" buttons
I love this product. the clip will go on a belt loop or the little pocket on your jeans. Also battery lasts forever and it can hold a ton of music. As for the complaints it's simple 1- unreliable battery, the problem is you aren't charging it when you plug it in sometimes you have to reset the player by disconnecting, locking the keys, hold the center button, plug in, and keep holding for 10 seconds. 2-As for putting music on if you have the music in any standard windows file highlight what you want then right-click and select "send to sansa clip drive..." this is the simplest way I am using limewire and windows xp home.

Great design
Date:February 17, 2010
I've been after a good value MP3 player for a while.
The problem I kept running into was that anything with a decent capacity seems to come complete with video playback capabilities (not being given to walking into lamp-posts, I'm reluctant to pay for something I'll never use). Sound-only players, on the other hand, often seem to offer an amount of storage so low that it borders on the pointless.
The Sansa +8 is, finally, something that gives me what I want - a no-thrills music player with expandable storage.
The device is unbelievably small but it has a nice feel to it. The design is simple, elegant and very intuitive.
All in all, a great little product filling a great big hole in the market-place.

OK when it works
Date:February 6, 2010
Pros: good sound
Cons: poor construction quality, unreliable, hard to use controls
The sound is great when it works. After the first month, it's getting more troublesome, it either locks up and won't play, or it runs it's battery down and won't respond to controls. When you need it, it doesn't work. Great idea, very poor execution.
